By: Booktrope Popular romantic suspense author and St. Louis resident Heather Huffman will visit Springfield, MO from March 22-24, 2012 to host two “Leave your Mark” graffiti parties and celebrate her new release, TUMBLEWEED. Springfield was selected for its proximity to the Ozarks, which hold a special place in Huffman’s heart and serve as the inspirational setting for TUMBLEWEED. TUMBLEWEED, a romantic adventure of new beginnings, is Huffman’s sixth book and offers her readers a unique insight to two characters in her international hit THROWAWAY, which made the Top 10 Kindle Best Sellers List in September. Huffman’s books are entertaining romantic suspense that delight readers with resilient heroines, passionate romance and exciting adventures. With over 150,000 readers, she sees her books as a way to not only entertain, but to raise awareness of a cause that she’s deeply committed to: fighting human trafficking, the reality of modern day slavery. Huffman’s romance novels remind us that even the biggest obstacles can be overcome, but as she jokingly warns her readers, they also contain happiness inside: “The stories I write don’t shy away from the darker corners of life, but they’re largely warm and funny reads. Although my books are fictional, the characters and storylines are inspired by people I’ve met through my work. There is always a piece of me in them, too. Some of the most outlandish tales are mine, tweaked to fit the story. My failures and triumphs are woven into every page. That is most evident in Tumbleweed – this novel is really close to my heart, and I share a number of antics with its characters.” More than a book signing, graffiti parties are Huffman’s unique way to bring people of all backgrounds together, get to know her readers in a relaxed, fun setting, and discuss ways to get involved. The venues vary but her belief that we all have something unique and important to share is consistent. Every day, people are presented with countless opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. For those truly wanting to become involved in the fight, there are a variety of organizations looking for help. Huffman is also always willing to help her readers find their niche.
