Feb. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- New Britain, CT, February 13, 2012 -- Alexander Litvinenko: The Russian Spy Story Unraveled is a video that seeks to correct alleged media inaccuracies regarding Litvinenko's death. The video is the second in a series of supplements to The Phony Litvinenko Murder, a recent book by William Dunkerley. The book offers a thorough analysis of media coverage surrounding the purported poisoning of Litvinenko by radioactive polonium in 2006.

Now, the new video examines whether Litvinenko was ever really a spy. It presents a list of famous Russian spies, and asks the question: Which one wasn't really a spy?

Specimens are presented of widespread media reports that clearly call Litvinenko a spy. However, the video cites two sources who report otherwise. One of them is Litvinenko's own widow, who can be heard speaking in her own words.

Select media outlets were polled on why they called Litvinenko a spy. The results are presented in the video.

Dunkerley works extensively in Russia and other post-communist countries, and has advised governments on matters of press freedom and media sector development. In 2007, Dunkerley was commissioned by the organizers of the World Congress of the International Federation of Journalists to study the media coverage of the Litvinenko poisoning. The Congress was held in Moscow, where he presented his report.
