FXB India Suraksha Receives FCRA Registration

New York, NY -- FXB International announced today that FXB India Suraksha has received FCRA registration from the government of India, allowing the organization to directly receive donations from foreign sources. The application process for FCRA registration is rigorous, with the government of India reviewing not only the applicant’s track record and project outcomes, but also their leadership, senior staff members and three year financial audit.

This certifies that the government also believes we are a strong and effective NGO.”

For a non-profit organization in India to receive funds from an overseas source, the government of India requires that it receives registration stating that it complies with the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). Without FCRA approval, grantee organizations in India cannot legally receive foreign contributions from outside the country. The due diligence process is thorough and the FCRA registration establishes the credibility of the organization.  

FCRA stands for Foreign Contribution Registration Act 1976, passed by the parliament of India. The legislation gives India’s Ministry of Home Affairs the ability to recognize the validity of organizations to receive any foreign contributions by individuals, institutions, and foreign governments.
