Presenting a lump of coal to the Belmont Municipal Light Department/Q&
Thursday, 12/15 at 1:30 PM
Belmont Municipal Light Department, 40 Prince Street, Belmont, MA 02478
To protest Belmont's regressive solar policies, namely not participating in the state (Commonwealth Solar II) rebate program, having an incomprehensible and solar-averse net metering policy, and the overall lack of cooperation on and support for solar initiatives, principally by the BMLD. The lump of coal also represents the EPA-estimated 15% of electricity in the region that comes from coal, a nonrenewable source of energy that contributes to global warming.
