LV-PITA, Professional Institute of Technology NOW Offers Medical Office Training

Nov. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- LV-PITA, Professional Institute of Technology, continues to grow, expand and provide much needed training programs for the Las Vegas area residents.  

The school, which has been in operation since the beginning of 2009, has grown tremendously, due to the need for trained professionals.  The staff of LV-PITA is diverse, and many have been in either Education, Training and Management most of their careers.  They are passionate about giving back to the community, and providing a learning environment that is positive, engaging and relevant.

"Many of our students come to us at their lowest point.  They may have been laid off, or unemployed for some time, and feel like there is no hope for them.  Our goal is not just to train them in a software, or skill, but to help them rebuild their confidence, their sense of belonging and help the see they are an asset to an employer", states Laurie Clemens, School Director.

The school specializes in helping individuals with disabilities, and utilizes a number of Assistive Technologies designed to assist in the learning.  Some students are visually impaired, some are amputees, and others have learning disabilites.  There are software programs out there to assist them in learning, such as Dragon (speech recognition), JAWS & WindowEyes, (visually impaired).  The school recognizes that each person is an individual and each program is specifically designed for them.

With the addition of the  Medical Office Specialist program, students can now recieve certification for CMAA (Certified Medical Administrative Assistant), CBCS (Certified Billing and Coding Specialist), and CEHRS (Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist).  The school is providing these national certifications which is a part of the National Healthcareer Association.

The program will be offered both day and evening, and most courses run four hours per day, and in half day format.
