Oct. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Birmingham UK: Immersive learning visualisation specialists Daden Limited (Daden) are seeking input from trainers and educators to help formulate the "next generation" of their award winning exercise authoring system for virtual worlds, PIVOTE. A key element to the success of PIVOTE's development is to understand what sort of capabilities the next version of the application should have and Daden have devised a short online survey to capture customer requirements and document any improvements current users would like to see.

Daden have spent three years developing and working on PIVOTE and it has been used in projects as diverse as paramedic training and genetic screening to emergency managers training and virtual training for accountancy tools. PIVOTE allows users to create and test the structure and information content of a training exercise on the web - independent of the virtual environment. As a result tutors and lecturers don't need to become virtual world experts as PIVOTE allows you to capture and time stamp all student interactions and make minor changes to the text, or logic, of your scenario.

Soulla Stylianou, Daden's Client Director said "Although we have our own ideas it is important for us to understand what educators and trainers would like to see in the next generation of the PIVOTE system. We hope that people will complete our online questionnaire and contribute to its development."

Simulations created in PIVOTE can be run in any virtual worlds and the benefits of using immersive training includes more motivated students, increased understanding, retention and recall. Unhindered by the limits of real-world physics and safety concerns, the lesson is remembered as people, things and sounds rather than just as images, text or video. They are an ideal place for informal learning, where students can learn from information embedded in the environment.

Soulla ends "Daden intend to feedback on the ideas that we are able to incorporate into the new generation PIVOTE system, so you can see that your time has been beneficial".

To complete the survey visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QB58TWK

The questionnaire will be open until 31st October 2011, after which Daden will be publishing the results.
