PROGRAMS Novice/Beginner Classes: Small group classes designed for beginning level students. Study with the finest instructors during the all-important early years! Grades 4-6 Students progress at their own pace. Discover the fun of playing flute & making music with others! BFA Ensemble & Seminar Program: Weekly classes with ensemble training, and a wide variety of inspiring workshops and masterclasses with guest artists. Builds more complete, confident, informed musicians at every age! Opportunities for all flutists regardless of where they study privately. Grades 4-12 and college. Ensemble placement based on audition. Meets at Maliotis Cultural Center, Brookline. Preparatory Ensemble & Seminar: Beginning- Repertory Ensemble & Seminar: Intermediate- 1 spot available Conservatory Ensemble & Seminar: Advanced high school and college flutists. Adult Ensemble & Seminar: Ensemble training designed for adult flutists, including rehearsals and workshops with BFA conductor and guest artists. Adult flute students, graduate students, and recent college grads are invited. All levels welcome. Members fill out a simple questionnaire about their experience and goals for the program. Part assignments are tailored to their responses, to create a multi-level group that is fulfilling and comfortable for everyone! Private Lessons/General Studies: Study with the finest teachers, and progress at your own pace! Trial lessons available for the best teacher-student match. High profile performances Masterclasses with renowned guest artists Mixed Chamber Music: Duos, trios, quartets, and quintets coached by BFA faculty. All instruments welcome! Teacher Training Program: Hands-on experience working with students of all levels. Class observation and pedagogy consults with BFA faculty and guest artists. Designed for graduate-level music majors and recent graduates beginning their flute careers. Interview and audition required. 12-week course. Fall Term 2011 now full.
