Follow on Google News | Energizer Charitable Trust Awards Grant to The National Children’s Cancer SocietyThe Energizer Charitable Trust recently awarded a $10,000 grant to The National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS). The grant will help the NCCS provide college scholarships to childhood cancer survivors in 2011.
The NCCS developed the Beyond the Cure scholarship program three years ago to assist young men and women who have overcome cancer to achieve their long-term goals. The Scholarship Program assists survivors who have demonstrated the ability to overcome the difficult challenges of cancer with determination and motivation. For them, cancer has strengthened their character, intensified their love of life, and instilled a sense of duty to truly make a difference in the lives of others. “We are honored to receive a grant from the Energizer Trust Fund,” said Julie Komanetsky, Vice President of Patient and Family Services at NCCS. “The grant will allow us to expand our program to help more survivors of childhood cancer pursue a college education.” The primary mission of the Energizer Charitable Trust is to support not-for-profit organizations whose programs address the educational needs of children and young adults in underserved and disadvantaged communities. # # # The National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS) is a not-for-profit organization that is committed to improving the quality of life for children diagnosed with cancer and their families worldwide.
