Alicia Keys takes to Broadway

July 4, 2011 - PRLog -- 14 Grammy award winner Alicia Keys will be producing Lydia R Diamond’s Stick Fly this winter for Broadway. It received outstanding appraisal from critics in DC, New Jersey, and Boston and is now ready to debut in December.

In a statement Alicia announces “It is so beautifully written and portrays black America in a way that we don’t often get to see in entertainment.”

The story follows an African American family on a summer weekend in their Martha’s Vineyard home.  The two very successful sons decide to bring their women home to meet the family. One of the girls just happens to white.

It will be directed by Kenny Leon (Fences, A Raisin in the Sun).
