June 14, 2011 - PRLog -- The Suffolk based DaRo Group, which celebrated its most successful ever year in 2010, has now received full accreditation from the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme for its UV water purifying systems.

Management at the company is confident the new accreditation will help to boost sales of its innovative Saphir UV disinfection units, its flagship water purifying product. DaRo UV Systems - the UV division of the DaRo Group – has sold more than 20,000  UV disinfection units, which ensure water systems stay safe and avoid contamination, in the private water sector. However, the WRAS endorsement will open up a host of new market opportunities for the product.

Julian Cant, company General Manager, said: “Obtaining WRAS accreditation is a huge development for us, as it would be for anyone working to the water supply industry. We have invested 18 months worth of time making sure our products receive the highest possible industry endorsement.

“We have sold more than 20,000  units to the private water sector, but now we can offer the product to water suppliers which have a public interest such as hotels, guest houses and rented properties. We are confident this development will make a significant contribution to the continued DaRo success story.”

WRAS was set up to promote knowledge of water regulations throughout the UK and to encourage their enforcement to prevent waste, undue consumption and contamination of water. The body consults with the Government on behalf of the water supply industry.

The WRAS accreditation is of vital importance to DaRo UV Systems, which manufacturers, assembles and sells a range of high-powered UV systems, which purify water, ranging from those which kill effluent bacteria in waste water to those which purify rain water or recycled water from flushing toilets.

“UV light is becoming an increasingly popular method of purifying water and food because it is environmentally friendly. UV kills bacteria without using chemicals, and the less chemicals we use the better it is for our health and the environment in general. We supply a number of UV products, which customers use to purify their water systems,” added Mr Cant.
