She will review how caregivers will need to change their behavior how those changes will help the patient when they lose the ability to communicate. Jolene will provide suggestions on how to improve visits with those suffering from Alzheimer’s and Dementia, especially for children and finally discuss the when it’s time to move a loved one into a community that specializes in memory care.

Jolene Brackey began her career as an interior designer after graduating from Iowa State University. Realizing that she derived greater joy from helping people improve the interiors of their lives, rather than their homes, she left her interior design job taking the first job available as an activity director at an Alzheimer's special care unit. She didn't know what Alzheimer's was but she knew she liked older people and soon she found ways to create positive outcomes and moments of joy for the individuals with the disease, their loved ones, and professional caregivers. Eager to share her practical solutions and insights, Jolene began speaking at educational seminars, conferences and has appeared on several news programs including ABC News. Owner of Enhance Moments and Author of, “Creating Moments of Joy: A Journal for Caregivers”, Jolene passes on her message of hope and encouragement-along with generous helpings of humor to help guide people through the Alzheimer's journey.
