Summer Golf Camp at Baylor Announced

April 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Golf is a sport that typically requires dedication early in life in order to be competitive at the high school or collegiate level.  If you are looking for a competitive advantage you may want to consider Baylor's Summer Golf Academy for boys and girls ages 9 – 15 years old.  Regardless of their skill level, this camp will help each participant increase their skill level on the golf course.

Baylor varsity golf coaches along with Todd McKittrick, in-house pro at an area golf course, have designed a three-day instructional clinic that will offer each junior golfer the same opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point.  A nine-year-old golfer with little to no experience has the same access to expert coaching as a more experienced 15-year-old, allowing each camper to excel at his or her own pace.  
The goal of the camp is to help each participant excel to a higher level of play.  This generally consists of evaluating the swing of each golfer, developing the skills and practice routines, and expert coaching to enable each camper to obtain new milestones.  This may include helping them make their high school golf team, improve their existing rankings on their high school golf team, or even help improve their chances of attaining a college golf scholarship.  

Areas of Focus
During the week of camp, each camper will play with instructional staff and members of Baylor’s championship golf team.  Every facet of the game will be covered including the proper grip, putting, chipping, bunker play, stance and the full swing.  Short game work will be taught on campus at Baylor’s Hall of Fame Short Game Center.  Off campus play will take place throughout the week at area courses such as Moccasin Bend, Brown Acres, and Black Creek.  

Championship Tradition
Baylor's boys and girls golf teams have enjoyed success at the highest level.  The boys have won 15 state golf titles over the last 25 years.  In the same time frame, the girl’s golf team has won 16 state titles. This quest for excellence is reflected in our summer golf camp.
