Mobile Automotive Advertising Hits The Road In Sacramento

Users of outdoor and billboard advertising may want to give consideration to the newest kid on the block – or should I say up and down and all around the block – managed car wrap advertising.

Dec. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Sacramento, CA -  Car wrap advertising has been around the Sacramento automotive metroplex for a while now.  You’ve seen the colorful vehicles that appear to be painted all over with detailed graphics and photos.  Actually, they’re not painted.  Every inch is covered with a vinyl wrap that allows for attractive and effective outdoor advertising.  Usually these automobiles are driven by owners of small businesses to economically promote their own business.

Managed car wrap advertising http://www.sacramentoinsights.com/business/car-wrap-connection adds a new twist.  Advertisers can now purchase advertising space on any number of automobiles, in any locale, just like they would purchase billboard space.  Perception Research reports that mobile advertising gets 2.5 times the attention of static billboards.  RYP & Becker Group says mobile advertising gets 97% recall while Capitol Communications Groups reports 19% for static signs.  Five times the recall compared to billboards makes managed car wrap advertising a potential bonanza, considering that for the monthly cost of one billboard, you could have up to eight wrapped vehicles driving your message all over town.

While wrapping a private or company owned automobile can be an excellent one-time investment that can last up to five years, those companies that are willing to make the monthly investment in outdoor advertising just might find a bigger bang for their buck with managed car wrap ads than with traditional billboard advertising.  The cost of wrapping your own vehicle can be $5,000 or more, depending on the size and shape of the car.  (If you look around you can get it done for under $3,000 for any automobile up to a full size van).  Wrapping a managed vehicle has a little more up front cost, to pay for a GPS tracking device and accidental re-wrap insurance, but can be done for a fixed price under $3,500.

Management contracts can last from six months up to three years.  The GPS device tracks total mileage and precise territory covered, so you know what you’re getting.  It can also make sure the driver goes to a car wash each week.

Don Watson, owner of CarWrapConnection, is a Sacramento automotive http://automotive.sacramentoinsights.com/ advertising specialist.  He is on a mission to connect advertisers with new customers.  He says to be most effective a car wrap ad must be “big, bold, simple and fun.  It has to grab your attention, then quickly and easily convey the product and contact information.”

Billboard advertising is tried and true.  Advertisers spend several billions of dollars on it annually.  Managed car wrap advertising is an up and coming complement or alternative to billboard advertising that may soon find its’ own competitive niche within the outdoor advertising arena.  While some advertisers are not yet ready to jump on the car wrap bandwagon, those who do may be riding the cutting edge of outdoor advertising evolution.
