Arroyo Grande, CA – November 18, 2010 – Heart of Success Academy -  organization devoted to teaching heart-centered professionals how to create awesome success shares practical applications for new studies on the power of Thanksgiving

Did you know that gratitude is now a science? Recent studies performed at the University of California, Davis provide scientific proof of messages about the power of gratitude that have come down to us through the ages. Not only did these UC Davis studies prove that gratitude improved quality of life, participants also made progress toward important goals.

In the movie and book of The Secret, Rhonda Byrne described how the ancient wisdom came to her in a book written over 100 years ago. The book was “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace Wattles. Wattles contended that your ability to get the results you desire in every area of your life starts with the way you think. And the most effective way to think is with gratitude. Wattles went so far as to say, “Many people are kept in poverty by their lack of gratitude.”

Here are five simple gratitude experiments you can do now and five keys to a wonderful life.

1. Better Health: Think about something you feel genuinely grateful for. Notice as you continue to feel gratitude that you can’t feel stress and gratitude at the same time. Since stress has been shown to destroy health, you now have a completely free tool for improving your health.

2. Supportive Relationships: Notice now that you can’t think angry thoughts and thoughts of gratitude at the same time. Imagine what might happen if you consistently thought about the things you appreciate most about those you love.

3. Confidence: Think grateful thoughts and notice how you feel about yourself. You can’t feel gratitude and feel bad about yourself at the same time. What might feelings of gratitude do for your confidence and self-esteem?

4. Success: Now think of something you want and feel grateful that it is coming to you. It should also be difficult to see yourself as a failure and feel gratitude at the same time.

5. Happiness: Now imagine how your daily life might improve if you could maintain an attitude of gratitude throughout the day.

And in the spirit of Thanksgiving, you may also be interested in knowing that expressing gratitude aloud amplifies the positive effects. So take the opportunity to share gratitude with those you love now and throughout the year.
