Oct. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Peterborough United have had a 1 million bid for MK Dons striker Izale McLeod rejected after Darragh Macanthony suggested he would aid the club's promotion bid.

Darragh Macanthony, speaking exclusively to The Evening Telegraph, said: "We made the bid a couple of weeks ago as well as a few other bids.

"Izale was my shout and I asked Keith and Barry if they rated him and then told them to make it happen. Barry nearly fell off his chair as he had been working hard on a few other targets over the last week.

"We hope January will be a busy period for us transfer wise with a few players coming in to help our promotion challenge. That's the end goal this season, promotion!" exclaimed Darragh MacAnthony.

The record transfer fee paid by a club in the basement division of the Football League is 850,000 by Brentford to Crystal Palace for Icelandic international Herman Hreidarsson in September 1998.
