Oct. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- In a world of dotted espadrilles, jewelled thong sandals, Crocs, are far from the prettiest shoes on the market. One could say the rainbow-coloured clogs are the best example of choosing comfort over style. It isn’t imported if fashion stylists find it attractive or not: It's for the feet and they want wear Crocs. A clog can also be a special kind of shoe worn while clog-dancing (clogging). They are similar to tap shoes, but the taps are free to click against each other, therefore producing a different sound than tap shoes. Nowadays, "clogs" also mean comfortable slip-on shoes. They are often made out of leather, but some clogs keep the bottom part out of wood. All-rubber clogs are often worn while gardening, because they can be easily hosed off and allowed to air-dry. Some clogs come with heels, and are usually distinguished from mules by their higher vamp. It is commonly accepted that men and women can wear low-heeled or high-heeled clogs. I found a few interesting and a variety of new styles in their latest collection.
Crocs, was founded by entrepreneur George B. Boedecker, Jr. to produce and distribute a foam clog design acquired from a Quebec company called Foam Creations. The shoe had originally been developed as a spa shoe. The first model produced by Crocs, the Crocs Beach, was unveiled in 2002 at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, and sold out the 200 pairs produced at that time. Today, Crocs are available in more than 35 colours. The company has secured licensing deals with the National Football League, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League, as well as Disney and several universities. Crocs was the title sponsor of the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) Tour from 2006 through the 2009 season. In fact, a kid wearing Crocs would have been laughed out of town back in the day. Clumsily oversized, covered with holes and the flip-flappable strap and Jibbitzs. Jibbitzs are charms for Crocs. They are a one-piece rubber design that you simply push through the holes in your Crocs. They are available in a huge variety of styles and themes to fit your interests and personalize your shoes. Whether your favourite thing is turtles, cheerleading, Mickey Mouse, or jigsaw puzzles, there are Jibbitz for you. The jibbitz simply push into the holes in your crocs, they are all easy to put in and out so you can change the designs as the mood takes you, there are no separate parts, the Jibbitz is all one unit so no annoying little parts to lose. Many say, Crocs can pose danger on escalators. It's not just Crocs that pose a danger -- any soft, pliable shoe, even flip-flops, can be dangerous on an escalator.
