Chesterford Research Park and Volvo battle it out on the football pitch!

Chesterford emerge victorious after a nail-biting 90 minutes
 
Aug. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Chesterford Research Park football team took on a team from Duxford based Volvo, last Sunday, August 15th.

The game, which took place at Linton Community Sports Centre was awash with goals – Chesterford scoring three in the first half, two from the boot of Andy Stott from Biofocus and a third in the 35th minute from Nigel Keating, the Park’s shuttle bus driver.

Volvo got themselves back into the game in the second half bringing the score to 3-2 with 30 minutes remaining.  A frantic last half hour saw both teams desperate to secure victory.  At the final whistle Chesterford emerged the victors having scored again, this time with a goal from another Biofocus player, Will Esmieu.  The final score was 4-3.

Fitness and the general health and well-being of Park tenants is a top priority for Chesterford Research Park (http://www.chesterfordresearchpark.com).  The fitness team based at the state-of-the-art health and fitness centre within the Nucleus facility – the Park’s central facilities building – are always on hand to organize a variety of sporting events and offer encouragement to participants.  

During the course of the last two months the Park football team has played against Babraham Science Park, the Laboratory of Molecular Biology and the Saffron Dynamos.  Looking ahead, Chesterford will host an inter-Park tournament in September as well as fielding a team of runners to take part in the Saffron Walden 10km.
