VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL PAGEANTS ACCEPTING CONTESTANTS

Laurel, MD – The Virginia International Pageants announces that is accepting applications for the Miss and Mrs. pageants to be held on Saturday, October 9 in Chester, Virginia.   The Miss Virginia International pageant is open to women between the ages of 19 – 29 who live, work or attend school in Virginia.  The Mrs. Virginia International Pageant is open to married women between the ages of 21-56 who live, work or attend school in Virginia.  Mrs. contestants must be married at least six months as of July 1, 2010.  No previous pageant experience is required.  Contestants who apply and pay in full by June 30 will receive a $100 discount off of their entry fee.

Each contestant has the opportunity to select a platform of her choice that she spends the year promoting.  Mrs. contestants will compete in four categories throughout the weekend’s competition including:  an individual interview, Evening Gown, Fitness Wear and On-stage Question. Miss contestants will have an added category of Fun Fashion to determine the winner. In addition to prizes, awards, the opportunity to spend a year promoting their community service platform and making numerous appearances throughout the state the 2011 Queens will travel to Chicago, Illinois next July for to represent their state in the international competition.

Young ladies between the ages of 10 – 12 may compete for the Miss Pre-Teen Virginia International title.  While there is no advancement to a national pageant, Miss Pre-Teen Virginia International is an integral part of the pageant family. “Each pre-teen contestant will receive a local sash and will be invited to participate in events with the reigning titleholders.  This is a great opportunity to gain community service involvement, build confidence, and have fun in the process” says pageant Executive Director, DeShawn Shepard.  There are only two areas of competition for Miss Pre-Teen Virginia International – Evening Gown and Fun Fashion.
