Costs:  Entry fee is $3,000 per team.  There is also an additional $50 events fee.  Total amount due is $3050 per team.  There is no co-manager fee or any other additional fees.  Entry covers cost for teams with single primary owners or for those who bring a co-manager.  Lunch and refreshments will be served to all participants during the draft free of charge.   Register online, by mail or by fax.  Payment for Varsity is required by check or money order.  Credit cards are accepted as payment for the $200 deposit only.  Draft slots will be drawn when the tournament is filled.

Format:  The Varsity is comprised of 12 team leagues with 20 roster spots.  Draft format is classic serpentine; 1-12, 12-1, 1-12, etc.  The entire Varsity format is based on total points only and there are no H2H matchups.  The Varsity Tournament will consist of a 13-week regular season which will run from NFL Week 1 through NFL Week 13 followed by the Championship Round and a Consolation Round during Weeks 14 through 16.  There are no league playoffs in this format.  Weekly starting lineups must be submitted by each team.  Free agent pickups by way of blind bidding are available for all teams during the regular season in Weeks 1-13.  League winners will be determined on cumulative total points at the end of 13 weeks.
Playoffs:  At the end of the 13-week regular season, the top four (4) scoring teams per league will qualify for the Championship Round to be held in Weeks 14-16 of the NFL regular season.  If the Varsity Tournament has 3 leagues, there will be 12 playoff teams.  Each qualifying team in the Championship Round will be seeded according to their regular season 13-week average score.  All teams who do not qualify for the Championship Round will enter the Consolation Round to be held Weeks 14-16 of the NFL regular season.  All teams in the Consolation Round will be seeded with a zero score.
Free Agents:  The Free Agent process is via blind bidding.  Each team will be given $1000 blind bidding "dollars" (not real money, just bidding dollars). The blind bidding process will be available after the completion of Week 1 and end prior to Week 13 on Wednesday December 1st, 2010.  There will be no free agent pickups for ANY team in the Varsity Tournament in Weeks 14, 15 and 16.

Roster/Scoring:   The Varsity starting lineup allows for two (2) Flex positions, also known as the FFPC Dual-Flex.  The scoring system gives 1 point per reception for RBs & WRs but also gives 1.5 points per reception for TEs, putting extra weight to the TE position.  Action scoring is implemented for all TDs:  any TD scored by a player is scored as 6 pt to that individual player, in addition to any D/ST scoring that may apply.  Stat errors will be automatically corrected using Elias Sports Bureau.  The deadline for lineup submission for each player via web site or email is the scheduled start time of the game in which the player is participating.

Starting roster:  1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D/ST and 2 Flex Players (RB/WR/TE)

Scoring system:
4 pts for passing TDs, 6 pts for all other TDs
1 pt for every 20 yards passing
1 point for every 10 yards rushing or receiving
1 pt per reception for RBs and WRs
1 .5 pt per reception
3 points for every FG of 1 - 30 yards plus .1 point for every yard thereafter
1 pt for D/ST sack, 2 pts for all turnovers
6 pts for all D/ST touchdowns
5 pts for every safety
12 points for every shutout
8 points for allowing between 1- 6 points
5 points for allowing between 7 - 10 points
