Fantasy Football Players Championship Raises Grand Prize to $200,000.00

Huge announcement today in the High Stakes Fantasy Football industry. The FFPC is the most trusted HSFF contest. With their prize pool in Escrow, there is not a safer place to play.

April 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Fantasy Football Players Championship Grand Prize Raised To $200,000
League Prizes Increase to $10,000

In the past, Alex and I have only considered a few FFPC announcements to be “big”—and this one is bigger than all of them. While we have already made significant announcements about the 2011 season, we have decided that a couple more changes need to be made after careful consideration—big changes!

The FFPC is modifying its 2011 Main Event prize structure as follows:
1. The FFPC Main Event grand prize is doubling, going from $100,000 to $200,000.

2. The FFPC Main Event individual league prizes are increasing from $8,500 to $10,000 per league.

3. The FFPC Main Event Championship Round prize structure (2nd-15th place) is increasing by $15,000+ (further added prizes are possible)

2011 FFPC Main Event Prize Structure

Details
1. The Early Bird Registration deadline has now been extended to May 15th. Teams that register by this date will do so at the rate of $1450 per team. The Early Bird multiple-team discount rate will remain at $1350 for each additional team. This is the identical entry price as was set with the previous prize structure.

2. After May 15th, the Main Event entry fee will become $1550 per team. The multiple-team discount will apply as additional teams will be $1450 each.

3. The $125 Events Fee remains the same for each Live-Draft team. Online-Draft teams remain without any additional fees.

4. The Co-manager fee of $75 applies for all Live-Draft teams, but it is waived for all Early Bird registrations.

5. Teams already registered and/or paid via rollover prizes from the previous year, as well as free FFPC entries won in the Footballguys Players Championship, will have no increase in fees, even with the newly added prize structure.

6. A $200 deposit (paid via ACH transfer or check – see below) is all that is required to reserve each team. All payments are fully refundable pending the confirmation of the 2011 NFL season.

7. The new Main Event prize structure is based on 660 teams. As entries go beyond 660 teams, prizes will increase accordingly.

Benefits of Registering by May 15th
By registering a fully refundable $200 deposit into the 2011 FFPC Main Event by May 15th, you will save $100 off the entry fee and allow yourself a co-manager fee waiver. That’s a savings of $175. Don’t miss it— Register Now by visiting www.myffpc.com

Anyone that pays for their entire Main Event team(s) entry fees via a check or ACH transfer can have their prize awards paid using ACH. As soon as stats go final at the conclusion of Week 16 of the NFL season and if the W-9 form is filled out, your prizes will be paid electronically via an ACH deposit directly into your checking account. ACH deposits will be given first priority in our payout queue starting this season and will always be paid first. This means that the 2011 FFPC Main Event winner could conceivably have the entire $200,000 in their checking account by Friday, December 30, 2011. How cool is that?

If there is not a CBA agreement by July 1, 2011, we reserve the right to revise our prize structure. At this time, we would offer full refunds to any fantasy player that requests one. While we are adding this provision, it does not mean we will make any changes, even without a CBA by July 1st. The current prize structure may remain, but a decision may need to be made at that time.

Further Explanation
This aggressive type of announcement may seem completely unlike how Alex and I generally have operated the FFPC. Our business model has been—and still is—very fiscally conservative. We do not spend your entry fee money on huge marketing expenses, like our own magazine, TV shows, celebrity appearances and things of that nature. We stick to the one sport that Alex and I are passionate about...football. Instead we believe in providing an exceptional product from top-to-bottom and only using select avenues to promote our contest. This has worked very well for us since our inception in 2008, as the FFPC’s growth has mainly been a result of a grassroots, word-of-mouth movement in the high-stakes fantasy football community. But in order for the FFPC to truly reach our long-term goals, we always knew that we would have to take that next step. Certain prize levels are needed to garner additional interest from all types of high stakes fantasy players. This cannot be achieved with smaller, incremental bumps from a $100,000 grand prize. Making the jump to $200,000 is an important one. Also of major importance to us is raising the league prizes to a level commensurate with a $200,000 grand prize. We realize that $10,000 is that next logical level for league prizes.

And as always you can be sure that our entire Main Event prize pool will be placed in escrow, as we have done since 2008. Not just the grand prize either, but every single dollar of the Main Event prize pool.

Leap of Faith
We’ve been proud to make the FFPC a trusted contest for so many of you in the past. Many of you reading this have played with us before, yet many have not. What we are talking about with this prize increase is the future of high stakes fantasy football. Not just for this coming NFL season, but for many, many seasons to come. As players, you all deserve to have a safe haven and trustworthy contest in which to play. You deserve a contest management team that is responsive to inquiries and message board posts and that cares for your best interests. As players, you do not need to wonder if and when you will get paid. No one—and I mean no one—deserves payout uncertainty after a successful fantasy season. If companies in this industry cannot successfully manage their money, they certainly don’t deserve yours. This is why we ask for your support now more than ever. The risk of not supporting the FFPC now significantly impacts all high stakes fantasy players. Due to the defaults of so many other operators, the number of trustworthy contests can be counted on one hand with plenty of fingers to spare.

Some naysayers will say we won’t hit the numbers we want, but Alex and I are not concerned about the external noise. While some continue to try and paint our two-person ownership team in a negative light, it permits us to make moves like this. Alex and I do not answer to corporate ownership and/or outside investors. Nor do we draw salaries, because we have no need to do so. While we are firmly in this business to grow the FFPC brand as well as earn a fair profit, we—and we alone—make the decisions in how to run this business. We answer only to our customers—no one else.

The FFPC is taking a leap of faith with all of you by taking our prize structure and our contest to the next level. In return, we are asking all of you to take that same leap of faith with us. Tell your friends, grab an additional team if you can, split a second team, but what we ask now more than ever, is that you do support us.

The future of high stakes fantasy football is in all of our hands at this very moment. Not just the FFPC’s hands, but your hands, too. The FFPC is proud to take on our share of the responsibility for you, the fantasy player. After all, the word “Players” is the “P” in FFPC. We promise to continue on the path we have laid since 2008. We promise to continue to bring trust, accountability, honesty, customer service, fun and fast payouts to our contest. We offer each of you the opportunity to earn life-changing money in our contest. We are willing, able and excited to take this industry leadership role. Now we ask all of you to join us and support the FFPC and the future of the high-stakes fantasy football.
