On Friday, April 30, 2010, representatives of www.WinterParkLostPets.com and local pet rescue groups will be at the Winter Park, Florida, Post Office to celebrate the nationwide launch of the new stamp series: Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet.
The Postal Service™, together with TV personality Ellen DeGeneres and Halo: Purely for Pets, is seeking to create awareness of animals that are up for adoption. During the launch of the new stamps, Halo will be donating a million meals to animal shelters around the country.
www.WinterParkLostPets.com is a free public service website where residents of Winter Park, Florida, and surrounding communities can post a lost or found pet. The goal of the website is to reunite pets with their rightful owners and help reduce the number of animals sent to local shelters.
Rescue groups representing specific dog breeds will be at the Winter Park, Florida, Post Office this Friday from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. Dogs that are up for adoption will be on hand. Please come out and take advantage of this chance to visit the post office, purchase stamps and, for just this once, it will be you who gets licked.
