Free Microchip ID for Pets at the Winter Park Dog Walk

WINTER PARK, Fla. - April 23, 2013 - PRLog -- WinterParkLostPets.com announced today that the 2nd annual Winter Park Dog Walk will repeat popular services from last year’s first annual Dog Walk, including free onsite microchipping of pets. New features this year include a free photo booth where pet owners can pose for a candid snapshot with their four-legged best friend.

FREE pet microchip ID — Orange County Animal Services will microchip dogs at no cost during the Dog Walk. The Lost Pets Foundation will cover the fee to record the chip with a national database. The microchip is available to the first 100 Dog Walk registrants who request this service. Pet owners can register for the Dog Walk online or in person at the event.

“A microchip ID is one of the most important protections a pet owner can take to ensure their pet is returned safely should it become lost. Microchips have been instrumental in ensuring a quick return of many pets listed on our free website: WinterParkLostPets.com,” said Judy Charuhas, co-founder of WinterParkLostPets.com and The Lost Pets Foundation.

FREE photo booth snapshot — The Dog Walk will be a fair-like atmosphere with activities, food and more including a photo booth sponsored by Coldwell Banker Realtor Shelley Heistand. Ms Heistand, along with Ms Charuhas, is the co-founder of WinterParkLostPets.com and The Lost Pets Foundation.

FREE tote bag and t-shirt — Dog Walk registration includes a free tote bag courtesy of Walgreens. The tote bag will be filled with complimentary products and coupons provided by local merchants who will also have booths at the Dog Walk. Dr. Zachary Hodgins of The Dentist’s Studio is sponsoring this year’s collectable Dog Walk t-shirt. The t-shirt is included with registration.

The Dog Walk will be held Saturday May 18th from 8 am until 12 noon at the Cady Way Trail phase 1 in Winter Park. Participants can walk along the trail for as long or short a distance as they wish. “You do not need to bring your dog to participate in the Dog Walk,” explained Ms Charuhas. “Everyone is encouraged to simply come out and enjoy the beautiful Winter Park section of the Cady Way trail.”
