Revinetix Announces Byte-Level Replication Capabilities to RevOS Backup Appliance Application

Nov. 6, 2009 - PRLog -- Revinetix® announced today the availability of byte-level replication in its new release of RevOS 3.2 advanced data protection software.  Included with the Revinetix network-attached D2D2D disk backup appliance, RevOS offers a suite of data protection features, including data deduplication, central administration and agents for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL, to simplify data backup, archive and recovery management for small and medium-sized businesses and enterprises (SMB/SME).

With byte-level replication combined with data deduplication in this latest version, RevOS now offers the ability to deploy a WAN DR (wide area network disaster recovery) strategy by efficiently transferring data to a remote appliance while significantly reducing the data needing to be transmitted. This is accomplished, in part, through Revinetix bandwidth optimization technology that utilizes transmission avoidance.  Now, even customers with slow, lower bandwidth connections can implement enterprise-class remote replication between their facilities.

RevOS centrally manages and automates backup, archive and recovery functions down to the desktop level for every machine connected to a network - even those connected through a VPN (Virtual Private Network).
