Oct. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- TRADE AND COMMERCE CONFERENCE HELD IN MEMPHIS

On October 15, 2009 a delegation of organizers and attendees ascended upon the Double Tree Hotel in Memphis, TN to make history.  This conference marked the first meeting of its kind for the Nation of Islam, with the intention of establishing a code of conduct for businesses and laying the ground work for future business operations in the United States and abroad.  Kamos Muhammad acted as the chief organizer and was joined by Katrina Muhammad and Jeffrey Muhammad, providing presentations to the attendees.

Kamos provided an explanation of the code of conduct and discussed why it was necessary to have a document that would act as the foundation for businesses to function.  If all participating businesses could first agree to the code, it would be easier to hold each accountable for their actions and cooperate with any mediation that may be required.

Katrina provided the attendees with thought provoking questions regarding business structure, business plans and documentation.  She was able to effectively express how important it was to document and chart business activities in order to make needed changes in advertising and promotion.

Jeffrey provided a presentation on solar energy and developed a strategic plan of how solar power can be used instead of the more widely used gas systems.  He had already established the manufacturing requirements and the actual cost breakdown to run a solar powered system.  He is currently training youth to build solar panels and presented his actual hands on experience.

This conference was not just symbolic, but also bought realistic answers to future business functions, operations and an actual product that could be manufactured by the Nation of Islam or individuals wanting to start a new venture.

With the state of the economy in the United States, this Trade and Commerce Conference should be growing by leaps and bounds in years to come.
