Oct. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- MyWikiBiz, the wiki directory of businesses and biographies, has attracted over 2,000 registered editors to its site in less than two years.  These editors range from attorneys to rock musicians, from SEO specialists to furniture makers, from fuel oil suppliers to chiropractors.  Each of them -- within a matter of minutes -- are able to create lavishly-adorned wiki pages on MyWikiBiz.com that outperform plain old "yellow pages" listings that convey only name, address, and phone number.

Instead, pages on MyWikiBiz may feature bright logos, embedded videos, picture galleries, and "semantic tags" which take advantage of the Web 3.0 nomenclature that Google, Yahoo!, and Bing are capturing to more accurately populate their search engine results.

In less than two years since its newly branded re-launch, the MyWikiBiz.com domain has enjoyed half a million page loads and over 200,000 unique visitors.  It is a more popular destination than 10 million other websites whose traffic is measured by the Alexa rating service.  Founder Gregory Kohs describes that ascent, "When we launched as a directory in 2008, there were 600,000 web domains more popular than ours.  Within five months we had surpassed half of them, and within another five months we surpassed half again.  Now, we're ranked higher by Alexa than the Brazilian government's website or the home page of the 10th largest company on the Fortune 500.  It's really amazing."  MyWikiBiz even has an article about itself in Wikipedia -- it's simply that noteworthy.

Registered editor number 2,000 happened to be the marketing manager of Farfallina.net, an online retailer offering a mix of exquisitely designed, handmade jewelry from over 30 international designers and brands.  Going live in February 2006, Farfallina ships product worldwide.  MyWikiBiz spoke with its 2,000th editor, Sonia Rimmel, from her office in Cambridge, United Kingdom, about what benefits she hopes MyWikiBiz will provide to Farfallina.

"Our reason for creating a page with MyWikiBiz is to promote Farfallina and our products on the web and bring authority to the site and its subject.  MyWikiBiz is a well known and respected authoritative site on the web, and we too wanted to include our information, hoping that we get more exposure globally," explained Rimmel.

Any small or medium-sized business, craftsman, artist, musician, or scholar may benefit from the exposure and increased semantic relevance gained by creating a free directory page on MyWikiBiz.com.
