The record breaking property is the most expensive home sold in all of Maine thus far in 2009, per MLS data.  It is also the most expensive property to ever sell in The Yorks (consisting of the coastal communities of York, York Harbor, York Beach, York Village, and Cape Neddick), topping the previous record by over $600,000, set by Anne Erwin Sotheby’s International Realty in 2007. Cragmere, a well-known ocean view estate in Cape Neddick, Maine, was designed by architect Antoine Dorticos in 1895, and built as a summer cottage for the prominent Connarroe family. In 1999, Cragmere received the Maine Preservation Award presented by Governor Angus King.
