The Americymru International Film Festival
The organizers of the 2009 Left Coast Eisteddfod Celtic Arts Festival in Portland, Oregon, today announced that next year's event will offer a $1,000.00 "best in festival" prize for film makers.
The prize will be part of the first annual AmeriCymru International Film Festival, to be held in Portland, Oregon in August 2010. The festival will focus on films with a Celtic theme, about or inspired by Wales, Welsh or Welsh-American history, literature and art.
Organizer Ceri Shaw will offer a public announcement about the film festival at this year's Left Coast Eisteddfod, August 21st and 22nd at the Crystal Ballroom on West Burnside. "We're very excited to bring this festival to Portland. We hope we get a good number of entries from this area and the rest of the northwest, as well as entries from Britain and the rest of the world."
It is hoped that the film festival will be the first of several similar events and it will coincide with next years Left Coast Eisteddfod in Portland.
