Free Business Portraits for Unemployed

Aug. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- On Wednesday, August 26th in Philadelphia Michael Albany of Magick Michael Photography will be offering free business portraits to those looking for work.  This event  will take place in offices of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, attendees will be eligible for free portraits that can be used on resume’s, Facebook.com, LinkedIn.com and other social networking sites Mr. Albany will be photographing clients who will then be able to download their portraits for free or order prints at cost.

Mr. Albany feels that he needs to give back to the community and that the best thing he has to offer are his skills as a professional photographer.  With the current job market as competitive as it is many experts are advising to include a business portrait of themselves on their resume’s and social networking sites, but most people don’t have this type of portrait.  It is Mr. Albany’s belief that everyone should have an equal opportunity to compete for an open position.  This is his way of leveling the field and giving back to the community.

Although he established Magick Michael Photography (www.magickmichael.com) in 2004, he didn’t take his business full time until just this past February when he was released from his position at a large Philadelphia based company.  Since that time, he has been pushing to build a photography business in these difficult times.  Now that things appear to be improving he wants everyone to get every chance they can.  “If a simple headshot is going to do that then everyone should have the chance to get one done,” he says.

Magick Michael Photography has shown work at a number of venues throughout the Delaware Valley and won awards in shows such as the Media Art & Crafts Show in 2007. Having commercial clients such as Nason Construction, Pearle Vision, Elwyn and others have helped to bring awareness to the issues of unemployment a good people being downsized, out of work and having to start over.  

Business portraits will be done by appointment on Wednesday August 26th from 10 until 4pm at the offices of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce 200 South Broad Street, Suite 700 Philadelphia, PA 19102.
