FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jul 10, 2009 – Americymru in association with the Meriwether Lewis Memorial Eisteddfod Foundation have announced ambitious plans to host an International Film Festival in Portland in August 2010. As part of the official launch of the Film Festival a short presentation will be featured at this years Left Coast Eisteddfod and volunteers will man the Americymru table at the Welsh/Celtic market to answer questions about next years event. Americymru ( http://americymru.ning.com ) is the fastest growing American Welsh friendship site on the web.

Headliners at the Eisteddfods Friday and Saturday night shows include Chris Needs, Jesus Presley and Oceans Apart amongst others.

In addition to head lining Saturday nights show at the Left Coast Eisteddfod ( http://americymru.ning.com/Wpage/page/show?id=2111712%3A ... ). Chris Needs will also be introducing the premier US screening of his animated film "The Jenkins's's's's'" on Saturday afternoon during a short presentation on the forthcoming Americymru International Film Festival ( http://www.amritsa.com/americymru/index.htm ). "The Jenkins's's's's" won the Best Animation/CGI award at this years Swansea Bay Film Festival.

Chris is the author of two UK best-sellers. The revealing autobiography, Like It Is, published in 2007 by Y Lolfa told of Chris's traumatic childhood, his showbiz and charity career as an accomplished pianist and vocalist, and his life more recently as an all-round celebrity. His latest book, upon which the film "The Jenkins's's's's" is based is a very different affair. Basically it is a light hearted look at a family from the South wales valleys who's lifestyle and adventures are somewhat reminiscent of The Simpson's.

Chris is a radio broadcaster currently working with BBC Radio Wales. His show broadcasts every week night between 10.00 p.m. and 1.00 a.m. . Some 50,000 people out of an estimated worldwide listenership of 8 million, have become members of "The Chris Needs Friendly Garden Association " making it possibly the largest registered fan club for a radio show anywhere in the world.

Chris Needs is the patron of the Meriwther Lewis Memorial Eisteddfod Foundation. He is also, together with Catherine Zeta Jones, a patron of Amritsa International who have partnered with Americymru to stage the Festival in Portland. For his charity work he was awarded an MBE by Queen Elizabeth II in the 2005 New Year's Honours List.
