June 27, 2009 - PRLog -- Animal Communicator Maureen Harmonay of Animal Translations is pleased to announce that The Animal Communication Book Club's next "Conversations with Animal Authors" teleconference will feature Sharon Sakson, who will discuss her book, Paws & Effect: The Healing Power of Dogs, which was recently released in paperback, during a free hour-long teleconference on Monday, June 29th, 2009 at 5:30pm (EDT).

Ms. Sakson is a writer, journalist, television producer, Whippet and Brussels Griffon breeder, dog show judge, and Pet Life Examiner for Examiner.com.  She is also a passionate dog lover and an intrepid investigator of the canine character and how dogs affect and change the lives of the people who love them.

"I'm delighted to have the opportunity to talk with Sharon Sakson, and to tap into her insights about dogs and their power to bring genuine healing to the people they love.  Until I read Paws & Effect: The Healing Power of Dogs, I thought I knew a lot about what dogs were capable of.  But Sharon's sensitively recounted stories of dogs' unselfish devotion and nobility opened up a wonderful world, where dogs seemed to intervene in the lives of people who needed their help, often with an aura of magic and always without fanfare."

Along the way, Sharon deftly includes some fascinating tidbits, such as the fact that  the Assistance Dogs Institute has intentionally bred light-colored Golden Retrievers and Yellow Labs because their pale coat color seems to be linked with the traits that are associated with successful service dogs.

If you want to know more, or participate in the discussion, you can join the "Conversations with Animal Authors" call by dialing 616-347-8100 and entering PIN #1063739.  Long-distance charges may apply.  For those who would like to hear the interview, but cannot participate live, a recording of the call will be posted on The Animal Communication Book Club (http://www.animalcommunicationbookclub.com) site within a few days after the event.

The Animal Communication Book Club is a free online resource that offers regular reviews of new and noteworthy books, audio books, and DVDs, as well as podcasts and archived interviews with authors of books on animal communication and the multitude of ways in which animals connect with us and change our lives.  Membership is free.
