JigTV interviews dancer Misha Gabriel about moving to LA, auditioning, and staying in class

May 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Misha Gabriel has danced with all sorts of artists including Janet Jackson, Omarion, Beyonce, and Christina Milan.  He has toured with Hilary Duff on her "Dignity" tour and with Justin Timberlake on "Future Sex/Love Sounds."  He has appeared in a Raven Simon music video as well as in movies such as Clerks 2.

In Misha's dancer interview he talks about how his experience moving to LA was different than most.  When he moved to Los Angeles he was blessed to book a gig almost right away with Omarion.  He knows that this was a blessing and that this is not usually the case.  Though he worked with Omarion for a year, he did spend three to four months without work when he was done with that.  Though it was delayed a year, he did feel the crunch of not being able to find work as a dancer.

Like most dancers, Misha Gabriel gets intimidated by the auditioning process though he says his biggest competition are his friends and fellow members of the online dance community.  This helps inspire him for the audition as well as takes some of the intimidation away because he knows what he is up against.  Every dancer experiences some emotion when they audition, it is a matter of channeling it to be productive that lands the top dancers gigs.  The more auditions he does, the more confidence he gains and the more fun he has with it.

Misha continues to take dance class and encourages his students to stay in class and take the online dance class provided by JigTV.  There is something to be learned from any instructor or any class you take.  Even if it is just a workout or a style of dance you aren't particularly fond of there is something to be learned from everything.  He also encourages students to be there fully when it comes to going to class, take everything you can from it.  Don't just go to class to be there, take everything you can from it.  He also tells his students to really listen to the music, study it, and treat it like homework.

As a perk for touring with Janet Jackson, as if touring in the Bahamas was not enough, was that she rented out a private island for Misha's birthday.  As if touring with Janet wasn't cool enough when he turned 20, she gave him the birthday he will never top and treated all of her dancers to a wonderful day.  It is cool to be a back up dancer, especially for the right people
