Allsup has come up with a unique sound that encompasses the diverse styles of the musically fertile Southwest, with a genius for intelligent lyrics and wry humor. Austin Allsup is the son of the legendary Tommy Allsup, who played lead guitar for Buddy Holly and the Crickets. Tommy taught Austin how to play guitar, and eventually Austin began to write his own music.
