Nationally recognized JEFF OWEN of Jeff Owen Artworks, local bay area abstract metal sculptor has been accepted into 5th Biennial Santa Clara Indoor Sculpture Exhibition, January 24 to July 31, 2009. The Santa Clara Indoor Sculpture Exhibition is displaying Jeff Owen’s sculptures Man and Obelisk at Santa Clara City Hall during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM, from January 24th to July 31, 2009 at 1500 Warburton Ave, Santa Clara, CA. This is Jeff Owen’s third invitation to the City of Santa Clara’s Sculpture Exhibitions. This exhibition was juried by City of Santa Clara Cultural Art Commissions and sponsored by the City of Santa Clara.
Jeff Owen is known for his unique abstract steel sculptures using found metal. His ability to cut and weld metal allows him to create any art he desires. The shapes of metal, its patterns, textures and grains; all entice him to create. He expresses his creativity in patterns, creates when his creative force is flowing, and sculpts to completion. He aspires to create sculptures that are different and unique, that no one has done before.
Jeff Owen was honored to be selected for the GBK VIP Gift Suite at the 2009 Golden Globes Awards. He designed special “GG” sculptures as gifts for the celebrities. Jeff Owen's sculptures won awards at the 2007 Carmel Art Festival Sculpture in the Park, previous City of Santa Clara Indoor Sculpture exhibitions, and 39th Palm Springs Museum Art Exhibition, and the Los Gatos Art Association Open and Member Juried Shows. His sculptures are displayed in indoor and outdoor corporate and individual collections nationwide and internationally.
