World Golf Index
Lorena Ochoa has won the World Golf Index 2008 Player of the Year... and by a considerable margin. With 17 top ten finishes for 2008, and a final season point total of 129 which was 34 more than second place finisher Jay Haas who finished with 95 WGI points.
Annika Sorenstam finished her "final" season with 10 top tens in 10th spot with 79 WGI points, and playing in only 7 events, Tiger Woods had 7 top tens and finished in 19th spot with 65 points.

There were 530 professional golfers, including a few amateurs, who achieved at least 1 top ten finish in a World Golf Index qualifying event from the PGA Tour, European Tour, LPGA Tour, and The Champions Tour.
