HPR Hosts its 2008 International Christmas Festival during Balboa Park’s December Nights

Celebrating the holiday season with ethnic dance, song, food, and cheer at Balboa Park.

Nov. 21, 2008 - PRLog -- San Diego, CA  — The House of Pacific Relations in Balboa Park is pleased to announce the 2008 International Christmas Festival (ICF) during Balboa Park’s December Nights event on December 5-6, 2008. The ICF is an annual event where HPR’s 32 cultural houses host performances from around the world as well as authentic food and festive drinks to celebrate the spirit of the season. ICF activities are scheduled from 4:00 – 10:00 PM on Friday, December 5th and from Noon – 10:00 PM on Saturday, December 6th.

HPR will offer the following ICF activities:
•   Lively entertainment at the International Cottages Stage
•   Delicious ethnic cuisine at multi-cultural food booths
•   International Spirits – this is an addition to the Balboa Park Beer Garden where traditional beverages such as rich mulled wines and smooth liquors
•   Cottage Open Houses – a large number of the cottages will be open showcasing its country’s culture, history, and traditions

HPR’s President, Hannu Mikkonen, extends an invitation to all: “You are cordially invited to celebrate the start of the holiday season with us at our annual International Christmas Festival. Twenty-four groups comprising of over 200 performers are scheduled to entertain our guests both Friday and Saturday on our international stage. The HPR cultural houses are also hosting food booths with delights from around the world. Come and enjoy the festivities with us.”
