Hollywood, California –September 20, 2008 – Film director Harold B. Pritchett will soon be headed back to Wilmington to sell his new movies to retail stores. Pritchett shot “Agape”
Actor Paul Benjamin added his voice to Pritchett’s “Agape” as the narrator telling the story about the life of Eric Printer, the lead character in the feature played by Wilmington’s own Neil Carr.
Paul Benjamin has worked with some of the most talented artists in Hollywood. For his first co-starring role in the film, "Across 110th Street," Anthony Ouinn is quoted in the Hollywood Reporter to say that "he considers him to be the most talented actor since Brando." Other noted films include, "Do the Right Thing," by Spike Lee; "Hoodlum,” by
Bill Duke with Lawrence Fishburne; "Leadbelly,"
Benjamin is also known for television productions include, "The Atlanta Child Murders." with Morgan Freeman, Ruby Dee and James Earl Jones; "I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings," Maya Angelou’s autobiography with Dianna Carroll; "The Education of Sonny Carson," with Mary Alice & Horn Clanton; "The Invisible Man," a PBS Special; "ER;" "Law & Order;" and "In the Heat of the Night" for which the latter two an Emmy nomination was mentioned.
Pritchett says Wilmington has plenty of undiscovered talent that may never have the chance to go to Hollywood so he is attempting to bring Hollywood to them. “I visited at my cousin’s store at 23rd and Market Street in Wilmington; there I met a lot of talented people who should be in movies, internet series and rapping on CDs. I want to give them hope in understanding the entertainment business and I want to give them the chance to prove themselves.”
Pritchett plans to teach young people in Wilmington acting, camera, and directing in order to share his 35 years of working in Hollywood. He is developing his next script “Hostage”, which will be shot in Wilmington. A new talent search will begin once he returns.
