Sept. 17, 2008 - PRLog -- Shaw Hospitality Group brings a bold, fresh look to the flooring surrounding the Liquid Lounge area at HD Boutique Miami with two new carpet collections, REmix and Contradictions.
Offering coordinated styles for guest rooms and public space, REmix by hospitality designer Kate Korten reflects animated patterns and linear motifs found in art designs and advertising from the 1950s and 1960s. Contradictions, a collection of 10 running line carpet tiles, is the first 100-percent, cradle-to-cradle certified carpet product in the hospitality industry.
In addition to the Liquid Lounge, which is co-sponsored by Shaw Hospitality Group, REmix can be see in Shaw Hospitality Booth No. 710 and 714 as well as the walkways surrounding the lounge. Contradictions carpet tile is on the floor in fellow Liquid Lounge sponsors’ booths, UltraGlas and Fabric Innovations. While stopping by the Liquid Lounge for morning and afternoon refreshments, show attendees will notice the warmth, texture and visual appeal these two new flooring collections bring to the area.
“We are excited to showcase REmix and Contradictions where attendees will gather on a daily basis,” said Desiree Worsley, Shaw Hospitality Group Vice President of Marketing. “Both of these collections are exciting product launches for us. REmix’s bold patterns and vibrant colors are perfect for HD Boutique and Miami, while Contradictions marks the first time a fully recyclable product is available from Shaw Hospitality Group.”
Manufactured with Shaw Industries’ Eco Solution Q® nylon and EcoWorx® tile backing, Contradictions is fully recyclable in a closed-loop, cradle-to-cradle process that turns fiber into fiber and backing into backing. REmix guest room carpet is also manufactured with Eco Solution Q nylon, which contains a minimum of 25 percent recycled content.
Eco Solution Q and EcoWorx backing are the only carpet products to receive Cradle to Cradle Silver Certification from MBDC (McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry), a third-party consultancy founded by world-renowned architect William McDonough and innovative chemist Dr. Michael Braungart. Contradictions’ fiber and backing contribute to the U.S. Green building Council LEED® Green Building Rating System.
