The Roadies hope that The Ellen Degeneres Show, while on summer hiatus, has interns reading her fan mail, seeing all their letters asking her for help. They feel their cause should be brought to her attention because of the work they have done donating materials, in addition to the Season 1 DVD of October Road, to Soldiers over seas, local Libraries, local Hospitals, Charities that supply Soldiers at war with care packages, and local Cancer Centers.
The fan's of October Road have made it their mission to not only spread the word about their much loved show, but to also do good in their own communities, and all around the world. That is why they created the "PAY OCTOBER FORWARD CAMPAIGN". This group of fan's have put their money where their mouths are, literally. They have purchased hundred's of Season 1 DVD's of October Road to donate as part of this campaign.
In addition to asking Ellen for help they have continued to ask ABC/Disney to change their mind about not renewing October Road to be in their Fall Schedule next year. The Roadies are determined to get the attention of everyone with their message that October Road is a show worth saving. Asking The Ellen Degeneres Show to help in this cause is just another step in their long fought battle to save October Road from being shelved forever. The Roadies believe October Road is the type of show that America need's right now. A television show that portraits positive role models of men, women, and families is rare in today‘s television viewing, in their opinion. October Road is to them, just this kind of show, and they are sure that if October Road was known to more people, they would agree with their point of view.
The Roadies join a long list of fan's that are very unhappy with the way the big three networks have treated them this past year. There is the hard fighting fan's of the twice cancelled CBS drama, Jericho. The Jericho fan's are still fighting to bring their show back. The fan's of the ABC's dramadey, Men in Trees, fought hard to save their show by donating fruit tree's to third world countries. The third example of fan's campaigning to save their show is the very motivated fan's of the one Season, CBS drama, Moonlight. This group has had a blood drive, to name just one of their many campaigns to save there show. All these groups have these things in common, they have put their own time, creativity, money, and energy into saving their show's. To their great disappointment, only to have the networks ignore them.
October Road fan’s are not giving up hope that they will no longer be ignored and force a change in the way networks treat their loyal viewers. Asking Ms. Degeneres for help is just another step in making that very thing happen for these loyal and dedicated fan’s.
