Arizona attorney Daniel Jaffe has unveiled the publication of a national DUI Law Blog http://www.duilawblog.com that aims to attract the contribution of information from DUI lawyers from around the country.
The project is a continuation of the work he has done online to promote the free flow of information regarding the issues surrounding impaired driving in Arizona, see http://www.duiarizona.com for more information.
Says Jaffe, "the idea is to get as much good information about DUI as possible to the public without the clutter of spam, and without an agenda. Nine years ago it was easy to find good local information on the subject. Recently there is more garbage and misinformation about the subject than good, relevant information."
The project, which Mr. Jaffe is funding out of his own pocket, will make it possible for any DUI defense lawyer who wants to participate, and, with the promise of frequent contribution, to have their own personal DUI law blog section for free.
"DUI defense lawyers are a largely unpopular bunch, until they are needed. We need to stick together, because the lobby against us and our clients is incredibly strong. I refer to the project as 'open source' because the more attorneys and other DUI professionals that contribute, the better the resource will be." Jaffe states.
Many DUI attorneys view each other as competition, but Jaffe sees it another way. "I look at fellow drunk driving lawyers as competition, but not in the usual sense. There is plenty of business to go around, and an educated public will usually choose the best attorney for the job. My colleagues are competition in that they make me a better lawyer. We need to work together to improve ourselves and our profession."
