openEQUELLA version 2018.2 released

The Apereo Foundation today announced the release of openEQUELLA 2018.2, the latest version of the open source platform.
PRINCETON, N.J. - Jan. 10, 2019 - PRLog -- openEQUELLA, a digital repository for housing teaching/learning, research, media, and library content in one platform is currently in use at a wide range of schools, universities, colleges, TAFEs, departments of education, government agencies, and corporations worldwide.

openEQUELLA 2018.2 continues the platform's renaissance since transitioning to open source.  All new features were the direct result of user requests, and development occurred via an iterative process involving regular user focus groups.  The majority of the release was developed by Edalex, together with additional contributions by Unicon.

"This second new release of openEQUELLA in 2018 demonstrates the rapid and ongoing evolution of the platform," said Ian Dolphin, Executive Director of the Apereo Foundation.  "Moving towards a community-driven model results in meaningful improvements to the user experience and analytics."

Highlights of openEQUELLA 2018.2 include:
●      Enhanced tracking and display of usage of individual resources and attachments, extending the overall system analytics
●      Streamlined process for attaching resources during contribution
●      Searchable course selector providing increased usability and scalability
●      Enhanced logging to include HTTP referrer details
●      Dynamic Theme Editor that facilitates easy configuration of the enhanced UI
●      Ability to build the Scripting API documentation from the current codebase
●      Extension of Docker capabilities
●      Enhanced Scripting API methods
