Haiti is currently facing a severe crisis in terms of humanitarian, political, and security issues after the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in 2021. This tragic event has led to the rise of criminal gangs that now control a significant portion of the country, including key infrastructures like ports and airports. In early March, one of these gangs managed to facilitate the escape of over 3,600 prison inmates, causing chaos and fear in various regions of Haiti. This situation ultimately resulted in the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry. The recent surge in violence has escalated to disturbing levels, with numerous casualties, abductions, sexual assaults targeting women and girls, and the displacement of more than 35,000 individuals since the start of 2024.

How can Pro Source Consulting help?

Pro Source Consulting has collaborated with various international stakeholders in Haiti over the past ten days, offering a wide range of services such as extractions, media team support, and planning and logistics for aircraft (both rotary and fixed-wing) entering and leaving the nation. Additionally, we have deployed a fleet of fixed-wing UAVs to provide continuous support to teams on the ground.

Upon receiving a request on the first day of the crisis to assist a large group of NGOs to safety, we swiftly organized a team to accompany them within three hours. We also had three rotary-wing aircraft on standby, ready to mobilize within a two-hour notice. Furthermore, we had made arrangements for an evacuee assessment center to be established and fixed-wing transport on standby for evacuating individuals from the island.

On the fourth night of the crisis, we were approached to aid one of our clients in safely bringing a media team into the country. Within four hours of the request, we had coordinated helicopters to transport them to the city and an armoured convoy to ensure their safety while carrying out their tasks.
