SAN FRANCISCO - Nov. 1, 2023 - PRLog -- Businesses from The San Francisco Cultural Districts, startups focusing on global markets, impact investors, social entrepreneurs, delegates, policymakers, technology CEOs and nonprofits will showcase stories of impact, collaboration and San Francisco's rejuvenation at GENERATE: An SME & Startup Forum during APEC on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Founders, Inc. in Fort Mason.

The event is being organized by San Francisco nonprofit The Co-Caring Initiative, inspired by the Afghan airlift they launched and built with business partnerships during the U.S. exit in 2021. Participants will be networking, exhibiting and sharing their stories of impact. GENERATE's cultural marketplace and media center will provide opportunities to connect and build a global ecosystem of social-impact stakeholders.

"GENERATE will showcase local business changemakers and demonstrate that business can be a force for good," said Minda Aguhob, executive director, The Co-Caring Initiative.

Speakers will include Brigit Helms, executive director of the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship, startups such as buildspace, which is building schools to make entrepreneurship more accessible, and Toucan, which won the APEC 2023 App Challenge; and SF businesses such as Manny's located in the American Indian Cultural District, as well as Kultivate Labs and Malaya Botanicals in the SoMa Pilipinas Cultural District. They will discuss the hidden human capacities revealed when people join together for solutions around a common mission.

"A who's who will be there — not just networking, but also building," Pia T. Barton, owner of Malaya Botanicals, said. "Small business owners and community leaders will learn more about how to work together, not just personally but professionally."
