Follow on Google News | OutInMaine To Launch Online Resource Guide & Social Calendar For Maine's LGBTQ+OutInMaine.com invites LGBTQ+-friendly businesses and organizations to become an online resource to help unite the LGBTQ+ community in Maine.
By: OutInMaine The OutInMaine website (OutInMaine.com) OutInMaine was founded by David Burke Jr., a gay disabled veteran, who returned home to Maine after 7 years serving in the U.S. Army and living 15 years on the west coast only to find a disconnected gay community. His solution was the OutInMaine website. "I founded OutInMaine when I returned home from the west coast to settle down with my family and discovered there was no readily visible gay community in Maine," said Burke. "My goal is to bring resources to the community in an effort to bring people together." Burke's vision for the future is to expand OutInMaine to the other New England states, forming sister companies with their own "OutIn…" under a new umbrella company called "OutInNewEngland" "Any entity with something to share with the general public is a resource," explains Burke, "and any resource may be listed in multiple categories to help connect with interested web visitors." The 5 categories of resources for OutInMaine are businesses, places of worship, schools, social groups, and support organizations.
