Concert Series performances and dates announced on Tellico Village Broadcasting Channel 193

Dr. John Orr, Community Church at Tellico Village Pastor of Music and Worship provides details for upcoming Fine Arts Concert Season during an interview of TVB.

TELLICO VILLAGE, Tenn. - Aug. 29, 2018 - PRLog -- During an interview on TVB Channel 193 Dr. Orr announced the upcoming schedule of the Fine Arts Concert Series that is sponsored by the Community Church at Tellico Village.

Per Dr. Orr,  "Each year our music department sponsors a Fine Arts Concert Series that  brings in talent from all over the world to sell-out crowds. It is our gift to the community and enables us to share our beautiful sanctuary with all who love music."

The 2018/2019 series begins September 27 with a performance by the Cantus Vocal Ensemble and ends May 2, 2019 with a performance by the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra.

Orr claims "Community Church Christmas," Is considered the hallmark of the series, and the area's largest Christmas Celebration. This year it will be performed on December 9 and 10. Its popularity is demonstrated by the fact that attendance is so great the performance was extended from one night to two nights.

"It," said Orr referring to the Christmas Conference, "Is one, of the premiere musical performances in East Tennessee. It includes members of Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Community ringers and our choir of more than 80 voices.  And the tickets and parking are free, although tickets are required."

The Concert Series Schedule is as follows:

Cantus Men Men's Vocal Ensemble "Alone Together" 7:00 p.m. Thursday September 27, 2018. Tickets $10.

This men's vocal assembly is widely known for its trademark warmth and blend, its innovative programming and engaging performances that range from the renaissance to the 21st century. Critics hail the Cantus sous as having both "exalting finesse and expressive power;"

Knoxville Choral Society Handel Masterworks. Featuring selections from "Messiah." 7:00 p.m. Sunday Nov 4.  Tickets $10 Under the direction of its new Artistic Director, John R. Orr, the Knoxville Choral Society joins members of the Knoxville Symphony to perform an evening of the masterworks of George Frederic Handel. Works include his rarely performed virtuosic setting of Psalm 110 and the selections from his masterpiece "Messiah."

A Community Church Christmas, 7:00 PM Sunday and Monday December 9 and 10 Tickets Free. The areas largest music Christmas Celebrations, the choirs and ringers of the Community Church join with members of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra to present an evening of Christmas favorites for all ages.

Lenoir City High School Choir, Jordon Cross Conductor. 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 Tickets Free.

The Tellico Village Singers and Tellico Voices. 7:00 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday, March 3 & 5, 2019, Tickets $10. Since their inception in March 2017 the Tellico Village Singers continue to perform to overflow crowds. They will perform two nights. The performance theme is "Give Our Regards to Broadway" which includes an evening of Broadway classics.

The Janoska Ensemble,From Vienna To Liverpool a Tribute to The Beatles. 7:00 p.m., Sunday April 7, 2019, Tickets $10. At each performance the four artists dazzle their audience with their music and creative energy. True art knows no frontiers, and the music of The Janoska ensemble proves that in remarkable fashion.

The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra. 7:00 p.m. Thursday May 2. Tickets $10.  Under the direction of Vance Thompson, the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra is a 17-piece big band. It consists of five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, guitar, piano, base, and drums. It is comprised of some of East Tennessee's top professional musicians and performs a wide range of music from the American Jazz tradition.

Tickets may be obtained at the Community Church at Tellico Village.  Sloan's of Tellico Village, the Village Salon, and the United Community Bank in Tellico Village.  Even though there is no cost for admittance to the Christmas Concert, tickets are still required so there is enough seating for those attending.
