BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Feb. 7, 2018 - PRLog -- The website wikiRap.org is pushing the original hip hop tradition to the extreme. Instead of mixing and sampling each others records and beats, this wiki site allows fans to contribute their knowledge of the hip hop culture.

Following the example of Wikipedia, any fan of the genre can contribute to the knowledge base. "The original street DJ's would take vinyl records and mix them to produce new sounds," says the website's publisher Abdul Malik. "Wikirap.org will take that same mixology style to allow fans to have a central location to collect and store information.'

Almost all of the website's content is contributed and editable by the fans/users. Make no mistakes, wikirap.org is a full blown wiki. If a user starts an article, others can come behind them and contribute to it.

For now, the website's editorial policy is laissez-faire. It promotes an attitude of, those with knowledge come spit it. "Our mantra," says Abdul Malik, "is show us what you know, teach us what we don't." As far as wikirap.org is concerned, hip hop knowledge is like butter on toast , its better when it's spread. All user contributions to http://wikirap.org/doku.php are subject to Creative Commons licensing .
