Antiques and Architecture Benefit Weekend Returns - Mansions, Appraisals, and Interior Design

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Jan. 31, 2018 - PRLog -- The Second Annual Antiques & Architecture Weekend will be held on March 2-3. This antique appraisal fundraiser is surrounded by events with tours, speakers, and presentations on antiques, architecture, and interior design. Ticket holders can meet celebrity TV stars and appraisers, and have treasured objects appraised. All events will benefit The Green-Meldrim House and Andrew Low House Museum.

The past and present will come together with seven events in two days.  Attendees will have first hand experience in learning about some of Savannah's mansions, churches, and how to combine antiques with modern décor.

The theme for the weekend is "Then and Now – Antiques and Architecture in the Modern World".

Sonny Seals, a keynote speaker, has documented the architecture and stories of historic rural churches throughout Georgia.He will be kicking off the weekend at a luncheon in the Chatham Club.

A lunch and learn presentation by International designer Chuck Chewning and architect Christian Sottile will be a behind the scenes look at the Armstrong House project at Forsyth Park. The design team will offer an exclusive previewof the current restoration, which is returning to a private mansion.

Interior design workshops will be held on Saturday, featuring Brandon Branch, a bestselling author, TV personality, and expert in southern style.  He will speak on Decorative Arts Then and Now.  Courtland Smith Stevens, owner of Number Four Eleven on Whitaker, will present fresh Ideas on Mixing Then with Now.

Weekend Event #1: 12:00 p.m. The weekend kicks off with Sonny Seals, author of the award-winning Historic Rural Churches of Georgiawith a luncheon at the Chatham Club.

Weekend Event #2:  6:30 p.m. Friday evening, guests will mingle with celebrity appraisers and acclaimed speakers at a gala cocktail reception and live auction in the sumptuous Green-Meldrim House, the National Historic Landmark where both General Sherman and General Lee were entertained in the Civil War period.

Weekend Event #4:10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Architecture and Historic Buildings Tours: One special discount ticket for four separate VIP private interior tours: The Green-Meldrim House, Andrew Low Museum House and the St. John's Church Sanctuary on Madison Square.
