MIAMI - Dec. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- Messaging Apps are becoming more and more important. Many people have one or more messaging apps on their phone. Compared to other apps, most people have more messaging apps than any other type of apps. These apps are being used for more than just personal use, but more and more businesses and brands are using them to reach clients.

To start off, let's go through some history of messaging apps. It all started back in 1990s. The first really messaging app was AOL. MSN messenger and Yahoo messenger came out shortly afterwards. This new way of instantly communicating with people all over the world became, for obvious reasons, very popular. In 2004, a PEW study demonstrated that 53 million Americans were using instant messengers. By the mid 2000s, the messaging options exploded. Blackberry had their own messaging platform, Apple had iChat in 2002, Skype happened in 2003, and Google talk started in 2005.

Facebook did not get into the game until 2008. However, Facebook was not the first in the social media realm to use messaging. Let us all remember MySpace. Skype is still around and will likely be for a while. Facebook, WhatsApp, WeChat, Viber and Snap Chat have all made significant advances and can be downloaded onto most mobile devices.

More and more brands are jumping on board to messaging apps to better communicate and engage with customers. They are looking at how to integrate artificial intelligence with these messaging apps so you can just speak and it will be able to tell exactly what you want through the integrated artificial intelligence.

Current Messaging App Usage is Exploding

WhatsApp has over 1 billion active users per month, Facebook messenger has 900 million people, and 697 million on WeChat. These are just a few of the newly exploding messaging apps. An interesting study looked at how many people use a messaging app on a daily basis, and they concluded that about 55% of the world's population uses a messaging apps. Interestingly, the four biggest messaging apps surpass the top social networks. As people use their mobile devices more and more, it will become even more important to be involved with messaging apps as a business.

Some Worthwhile Apps

WeChat

WeChat has some significant advantages in that you not only can use it for messaging but advertisement, financing, Online-offline serves, and digital content. You can transfer money on this app as this becomes important to have a platform to be able to move money.

Snap Chat

Snap Chat has over 150 million users. Everyday users spend more than 30 minutes per day on this app. Sixty percent of users are creating new content on the messaging app.

Facebook & WhatsApp

Facebook continues to be a leader in social media as well as messaging. Facebook bought WhatsApp for $19 billion and attempted to purchase Snap Chat for $3 billion in 2013, but was unable to secure this deal at that point in time.

Messaging

You will see more and more brands and businesses trying to get a piece of the pie with messaging apps. This will continue to grow and be more important. As it becomes more and more sophisticated, it will likely become even more critical that you are a part of this movement. This will likely turn into a highly productive crop of consumers if done right. Communication with customers is so important, and we see an increasing number of our customer base using messenger apps. Do not overlook this as part of your SEO strategy. https://www.blogher.com/reasons-why-good-seo-strategic
