Monster & Me™ Takes A Gap Year To Work The Political Campaign Trail

MINNEAPOLIS - Aug. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- Mighty Media Press, publisher of children's books and media that ignite a child's curiosity, imagination, social consciousness, and sense of adventure, announces today that it will postpone the publication of Monster Needs to Go to School written by Paul Czajak and illustrated by Wendy Grieb. It will release in July 2017 in time for the next back-to-school season.

The role Monster can play to show kids, and adults, the importance of democracy, civic responsibility, and character-building," says Nancy Tuminelly, publisher, "is worth Monster taking a gap year."

Mass media is exposing kids, and adults, to the harsh, and many times, ugly reality of politics in this presidential race. It's not something anyone can avoid. Kids, and adults, are confused, angry, complacent, and disenchanted with the political system. But, we must uphold our standards of democracy that defend our freedom and make choices that are good for "we," not just "me."

Mighty Media piloted an interactive, cross-curriculum Monster Vote (www.monstervotes.com) program with Kids Voting Minneapolis (www.kidsvotingminneapolis.org) to prepare and engage students for the upcoming election. To further support Monster and his political efforts, Mighty Media developed a partnership with Kids Voting USA (www.kidsvotingusa.org), a non-partisan, grassroots-driven voter education program committed to creating lifelong voting habits, increasing family communications, and encouraging adult voter turnout. Mighty Media created K-12 Voting Activity Guides as downloadable resources in accordance with social studies curriculum standards, that accompany the book/ebook, available free to all Affiliate members in approximately 30 states.
