BACK the BLUE is a passionate cause for Auten; one of her close friends is a dedicated police sergeant. In a recent conversation, Auten discussed her desire to design jewelry to honor law enforcement. Following the tragic events in Dallas on July 7, Auten was inspired to create the BACK the BLUE necklace to provide a necklace to as many female law officers as possible, so they could wear their love for what they do or simply put a smile on the officer's face.

Made at the Pretty Hunter warehouse in Waterford, Mich., the BACK the BLUE necklace retails for $36 and features one spent bullet round surrounded by Swarovski crystals in a 1-inch by 1.25-inch dog tag. The 40-caliber round was collected from local gun ranges and selected because it is the issue of most departments. It is set in a background of black crystals with a band of blue crystals across the middle to match the mourning band protocol for a fallen officer.

Since launching BACK the BLUE this past weekend, Pretty Hunter has already given away hundreds of necklaces to female police officers, and has fielded more than 350 Facebook messages of support from across the country.
