Longtime local leader and respected attorney, Joseph W. Brown, joins Kolesar & Leatham

A highly respected attorney and longtime leader in the state, Brown will continue his legal practice in the areas of government affairs, administrative law and business law at Kolesar & Leatham.

Brown is a former appointee of President Ronald Reagan to the State Justice Institute and the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission of the United States. More recently, Brown served as Republican National Committeeman for Nevada. He has served as an officer or director of many businesses, civic and charitable organizations including the Nellis Air Force Base Support Team, the Nature Conservancy, the Department of Wildlife, the Desert Research Institute, the Las Vegas Global Alliance (formerly the Nevada Development Authority), and Wells Fargo Bank. He is the Founder, and past Chairman of the Nevada Military Support Alliance.  He also served for several years as a commissioner for the Nevada Department of Wildlife, Nevada Athletic Commission, and Nevada Gaming Commission. Presently, he serves as vice chair of the Nevada Military Support Alliance.

In December 2012, he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Law degree by the University of Nevada - Las Vegas, and in 2013, he was given the Outstanding Alumnus Award by the Washington and Lee University School of Law. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
